Pick up at your hotel/Cruise Dock – 8am

Arrive at the famous Llanrumney Farm named by the Buccaneer Henry Morgan after his hometown in England.

After a short bathroom break, take a leisure hike up to the Great House Ruin built for Henry Morgan’s wife, Mary Elizabeth, in the 16th century. In the late 1800s, a new home was built on top of the ruins of the Morgan house by the Parachini family, one of the first Italian families to arrive in St. Mary.

Led by a local Historian, you will enjoy learning about the farm production of coconuts and seeing the many trees that grow on the farm. As you approach the ruins, you will learn much about how life was lived in the “olden days” of the Llanrunmey farm.

Upon leaving the Great House, after many pirate stories, your tour will be led into an old coconut processing ruin where, in real time, a local Jamaican farmer will have baked delicious coconut drops made from coconuts grown on the farm and mixed with fresh ginger.

You will learn how important coconuts are to Jamaica and the world of chefs who use coconut oil, water, and meat in every aspect of the culinary world. After a brief demonstration of what a farm can produce, the group will board the bus for quick ride to Galina Breeze Hotel for a wonderful lunch.

Galina Breeze Hotel sits on the side of the sea that overlooks the northeast coast of Jamaica and has a history as rich as the Llanrunmey farm just visited. The boutique hotel is over 75 years old and a place where, in the early 1900s, famous movie stars and artists made this hotel their getaway home in the winter.

Our chef uses local vegetables grown on the Llanrunmey farm as well as other St. Mary farms to create a delicious culinary experience. Locally grown beef, chicken and pork are just part of the lunch event we prefer to call Galina Breeze Irie Food.
